Amber Albrecht

I stumbled upon Amber Albrecht's portfolios, and I can't stop looking at the floating houses, reminded me of Hayao Miyazaki's classic "Castle in the Sky". ;D

Paniting by Holly Farrell

I am loving the still life paintings from Holly Farrell. They are realistically enough to make you wonder, but still maintain that painting quality and the simple subjects are just great, looks like great photos from an vintage camera of sort.

Love Suno

I don't follow fashion vehemently, but you can't escape during fashion week, so many posts about the latest FW10 collections. I am drawn to Suno's collection. Fun colors and patterns that'll definitely brighten a grey winter day.

Founder Max Osteerweis spent years in Kenya collecting textiles, and it's definitely reflected in the clothing.

I will remember to look out for them this coming fall while shopping for clothing. In the mean time the SS10's collection can be purchased at openingceremony.

Love Sarah McNeil

I need this - Sleeved Blanket

The temperature here is record low this week, and my hands are freezing just by working on the mouse wheel. Then I saw this, I really really want one. It solves my problem that, even staying in bed, I need my hands to work on the laptop. ;D

It's for sale soon...but I need it now.

Edition de Paris

I have a craving for Paris today. I don't know why, but I have been, for years, wanting to learn French and was digging up some lesson info. Then I remember I have a couple books of the Edition de Paris series, so I revisited them and it makes me crave Paris even more.

The books are Japanese books with lots of photo of really pretty Parisian home and this particular book I have is about homes of handmade artists. I drool every time I flip through it.

They are for sale online, but in Yen and seems like it only ships within Japan.

Key to my heart

It's a bit late to get this for the V day, but this is totally something I will get for my husband. ;D

Buy it here.

I heart this - Every Drop Counts by Ayda Anlagan

I am loving this set of tilted soup bowls, the idea is that when you finish, you can review to whole story, a great incentive to have you drink the last drop. We have a saying in Chinese "No one knows the pain in the bowl, every grain is a lot hard work". My grandpa would say this to make us finish all the rice in our bowl. I guess this is the same no waste encouragement, but with a twist, and it's much more fun. ;D

More Ayda Anlagan, buy the bowls here.

Sleep Suit - Forrest Jessee

I really love the idea to be able to sleep everywhere, I've been going to sleep very early lately because I am physically exhausted from my gym sessions...haha. The suit actually looks like it can be a fashion piece, it's made from a kind foam with the sort of origami tessellation, seems as if it can be quite comfortable. Granted, may not be awfully practical, imagine carrying it around for nap time. ;D

Make a secret message masking tape ring in 3, 2, 1

Quite a few last minute shoppers bought the perfect match necklace from me and it got me thinking, what if you're too busy to shop around and then realize you're a bit too late to buy anything?

This is a little idea for you, especially you're too shy to tell the person how you feel. All you need is a piece of paper, a pen and a masking tape (the Japanese mt masking tape is the best in this situation.)

Just write down your message.

Tape the masking tape to the back of your message. Leave at least 1 inch extra for left and right.

Tell that someone to close his/her eyes, and wrap the masking tape around his/her finger to form a masking tape ring. ;D

Insist that they can only open it later when you're not around. ;D

There, another cheesy romantic moment that should make someone happy. I think it's better than eating a box of heart shape chocolates. ;D

YellowGoat Shop

About

If you wonder why Yellowgoat, it's simple, because it's my name. ;D

Yellowgoat comes from the 2 Chinese characters in my name, when pronounce, it can sound like it means Yellow (last name) and Goat (first name), so this is how it came from.

The person behind this blog and the jewelry shop is a female, who's taken. I got married in Aug 2008, and one thing lead to another, I started learning a bit metalsmithing and jewelry making, then instantly I knew I want to do this for a very long time, and will be perfectly happy and enjoy it thoroughly.

Believe it or not, I used to be an animator, then became an local Ad TV producer, which has nothing to do with jewelry, but when I told my friends and family jewelry is what I'm heading, nobody was actually surprised, because I always get an eye for it since I was a teen, and managed to picked the really unique pieces that people looked, praised and asked.

My philosophy for my jewelry and this blog, is to bring happiness to others. I hope to share the joy of creating and finding beautiful things to all the readers and customers.

So, I am Yellowgoat.

(Lots of people ask what my "real" name is, if translate literally by meaning, my Chinese name is actually "King of ocean". ;D, but I go by Petula for a very long time, if you insist.)
